Clemson Gets Less Practice Time Than Alabama, Seems Totally Fair

I’ll admit, I’m a little worried about the lengths that ESPN & the NCAA will go to in order to give Alabama a fighting shot in this game after the ratings disasters of the NYE Semifinals. Think of all that advertising money spent by disability fraud lawyers and the Trump campaign that would go to waste when all those SEC fans turn off their consoles before halftime

TigerNet  —  ESPN has reported that the (14-0) Tigers will have to adhere to the 20-hour weekly NCAA rule while Alabama can have unlimited practices and meetings leading up to the title game. “This is because Alabama’s spring semester starts Jan. 13 — two days after the CFB Playoff title game on Jan. 11 (ESPN, 8:30 p.m. ET) — while Clemson’s spring semester begins on Wednesday,” ESPN said.

Classic. Maybe you guys can take away a couple of full days from Clemson? How about we ban the Tigers from padded practices too? Why don’t we just move the game to Bryant-Denny while we’re at it?

Look I’m not gonna sit here and use this as an excuse. We could skip the entire next week of practice and we’re still going to win this game. I’m not worried about practice time.

But I’d be lying if I wasn’t a little worried about the lengths that the SEC and ESPN and NCAA will go to in order to give Bama a fighting shot in this game. I mean after the ratings disasters of the New Years Eve Semifinals, they really can’t risk another blowout. There’s just too much at stake. Think of all that advertising money spent by disability fraud lawyers and the Trump campaign that would go to waste when all those SEC fans turn off their consoles before halftime to go stress fuck their cousins.

Can’t have that if you’re the NCAA. Can’t risk losing those viewers. Gotta make things interesting. And that means going to any lengths to ensure Alabama has a shot. Whether that’s tainting Dion Cain’s urine for a failed drug test last week, implementing some insane rule about practice time that won’t affect the “coincidentally” late-starting SEC, or whatever other preposterously corrupt sanction you’ll lay down this week about Clemson getting every major recruit.

Whatever, we’re still winning this game.

Happy Title Week everyone, welcome to the Natty.
