Toledo, OH — A North Toledo man pleaded not guilty today in Toledo Municipal Court to chasing a family member with a hatchet.
Noel E. Dawson Jr., 63, of the 400 block of Elder Drive, is charged with domestic violence, assault, both first-degree misdemeanors; criminal damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor; and failure to disclose personal information, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Toledo Municipal Court Judge Robert Christiansen set bond at $50,000 Tuesday with no option to post 10 percent. The case was continued to today.
Mr. Dawson pleaded not guilty today to the charges.
Mr. Dawson is accused of chasing a family member Sunday with a hatchet. Prosecutors allege he swung the hatchet at the man, but struck his truck instead — leaving a large dent in the hood, according to a complaint filed in Toledo Municipal Court.
When Mr. Dawson was arrested, he refused to give the officer any of his information and rather just shouted obscenities, court records show.

What do you see here? A criminal? A thug? A glitch? Another ne’er-do-well who should be locked away for life? Well you know what I see? I see a Snapchat Filter who’s had a hard go of it. A Snapchat Filter who probably had a hard upbringing. Probably had an alcoholic Myspace Update that beat and neglected him. A Facebook Status that never wanted to be a Facebook Status in the first place and wishes she could have just deleted him. And older Instagram Post that treated him like shit. He goes to school and he’s the ugly, weird, creepy Filter. Goes home and he’s left unopened by his family. Maybe he ends up on the streets with the other neglected Filters. The Holiday Borders and the Miles Per Hours that go caught Snapping and Driving. Soon enough he’s getting into drugs and going live for just three followers. He’s stealing memes and posting them. Trying to be an app that he’s not.
Flash forward a 210 second story and this Filter is on the edge of phoneslessness. He’s just trying to survive while he can and stave off the next update. Then all of a Sudden his old brother Instagram comes into his life. And Instagram Post is doing great. And Instagram Post is even posting Stories and Filters of his own. And Snapchat Filter has just HAD IT. Next thing you know, Snapchat Filter is on it’s way to Version 10.5 where he’s be thrown behind bars for the rest of the other Filters you call thugs and criminals. Well you know what? I see them as Snapchat Filters. And if there is a hell then I’m pretty sure this blog will be at the top of my resume.
