Hey, man… as a dude who says “fuck” a lot on here, that was pretty fucking sweet. Definitely not forced at all. Just a couple guys kicking in, dropping some hard FUCKS because guess what, who give a fuck right? It’s fucking HBO. Whatever we say goes. And if we wanna liven the show up with a couple of fuckin’ fucks, we’re gonna drop some fuckin’ fucks. You don’t like it, there’s the fuckin’ door. Fuck off.
Listen, I don’t think Simmons’ show is going to be as bad as it was last night. The first show was always gonna be rocky. Eventually he won’t talk about Deflategate. Eventually he’ll realize he’s not a “fuck” guy. Eventually he’ll figure out the format. He has to make that opener either shorter or longer. He has to do something about that middle segment, because if that’s the format–a visual blog that isn’t as funny or creative as what most bloggers can write, and not nearly as timely–then it’s going to fail. And again, he has to stop talking about fucking Deflategate. But I’m not gonna jump on him for one show, as bad and disjointed as it was.
P.S. I know I just made fun of how much Ben Affleck said “fuck”, but if you call this a “profanity-laced tirade” you’re probably a really boring person to watch sports with. When normal people are mad about sports they yell and they curse. Did he play up the “fucks” for HBO? Of course. Are we all sick of Deflategate? Of course. But I’ve already seen about seven different blogs writing about that rant like Affleck was a dangerous, unhinged lunatic. Guys, it’s sports. If you’ve never gone on some sort of outrageous rant like this then why are you even watching sports?
P.P.S. How about TMZ throwing shade at Affleck for being drunk? Hey TMZ, let him live bro.
TMZ — Ben Affleck appeared on the series premiere of Bill Simmons’ “Any Given Wednesday” and it was extremely bizarre … to say the least. A red-faced Affleck ranted about “Deflategate” on the HBO show and even though we can’t say for sure what was up with him … social media was quick to call Affleck out for his slurred speech and angry tone. Sources close to Affleck tell us he’s stone cold sober, and the slurring is just how passionate he is about Tom Brady. We’re told he and Simmons got into a heated, loud debate before cameras started rolling. So when the taping started at 11AM, Ben was already fired up.
