Unquestionably the upset of the night right here from SBC. When he walked on stage as Ali G I would have bet my life the bit would bomb. Not even necessarily from a content standpoint, but rather a “that schtick just doesn’t get me going anymore” kind of way. I don’t know, it’s just tough to crack me up again with an old character doing new material. It’s why all these sequels like Anchorman 2 and Dumb and Dumber To have sucked. Once that bit has run it’s course, it’s kind of just over for me. I’ll still chuckle, but it’s more of a nostalgic chuckle than anything. Everything else feels forced.
But Ali G man, that bit had me floored from the start. Something about the butchering of words schtick with him just fucking kills me man. When he called him Idris Elbow I almost coughed up a lung. Even just reading that sentence I don’t totally get why I laugh that much, but I do. Call me immature, call me tasteless, call me whatever. But Ali G still does it for me.
P.S. Oh yeah, and Olivia Wilde. She does it for me too.
P.P.S. Look man, I’m not saying I’m gonna vote for Trump… but this information kind of changes some things for me
