No, Kevin Durant Is Not Signing With The Warriors

Come on. Kevin Durant is not signing with the Warriors. I know that Woj’s word is bond in the NBA, but this is ridiculous.

The Vertical  —  The Golden State Warriors’ plan of pursuit predates their 2015 championship run, a bold plot to declare the futility of resistance. It isn’t only that the NBA champions are determined to recruit Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant. The truth is that they’re the most intriguing destination to him. If Durant leaves the Thunder, the Warriors are thesignificant frontrunners to sign him, league sources told The Vertical.

The Warriors already have everything and yet they’re threatening to take more now. Steph Curry. Klay Thompson. Draymond Green. Committed ownership. Bob Myers, the executive of the year. Steve Kerr, a championship coach. Yes, Golden State has everything, including the ability to create the salary-cap space and a belief that Durant’s persona could fit seamlessly – even onto a potential two-time defending champion.

Make no mistake: Durant isn’t close to gone in Oklahoma City – no decision, no leaning, sources said – but the real threats on the summer market are beginning to reveal themselves. Durant is determined to win – to be an immediate championship contender at 27 years old – and that keeps bringing him back to the Warriors should he make the decision to leave Oklahoma City.

Come on. Kevin Durant is not signing with the Warriors. This is not happening. I know that Woj’s word is bond in the NBA, but this is ridiculous. This is all just to drive traffic to his new site (The Vertical), and he’s earned the right to do that. Anyone with a brain knows this won’t happen. Think about it.

Where would he even fit into that lineup?
Well actually I guess Harrison Barnes is leaving so he kind of fits in there.

But how would he even get the amount of shots he’s used to?
Well actually I guess between Barnes and Rush that’s 15 of his usual 18 anyway.

But how would he feel playing second banana?
Well actually I guess he does that with Westbrook now.

But doesn’t he want to be the guy somewhere?
Well actually I guess he is kind of a huge baby about the media pressure.

But doesn’t he want to play at home in Washington?
Well actually I guess nobody would ever want to play for Randy Wittman.

But wouldn’t he get jealous of all the love Steph gets?
Well actually I guess it would probably be worth it if you’re winning literally every single game.

But isn’t he too competitive to just go to Golden State and automatically be handed the title?
Well actually I guess he knows he probably has to play with Steph to have a chance against Kristaps this next decade.

Ah shit, he’s definitely going to Golden State.
