Look, I don’t want to sit here and say I’ve been right all along about Kristaps, but I’ve been right all along.
We started the offseason wondering if he’d even play 20 minutes a game. Now the only concern is if it takes 20 games for Melo to officially hand KP the reigns to this offense. From a “project that might take a few years” to the cornerstone of the best franchise in the NBA in the matter of months. From “too skinny” to a brick house in a matter of weeks. From a defensive liability to the revolutionary Bill Russell in a matter of one preseason game. From “freakishly athletic for his height” to the league’s fastest end-to-end player in a matter of hours. I mean it’s comical how fast this kid has grown already. Can we even say the sky is the limit, or will he just break through that barrier too?
… I think we already know the answer to that.
