Couldn’t be more excited to watch the fuck out of this the day it comes out. If you’re at all interested in 90’s hip hop this will be a must watch. I love hearing about that era, hearing about how these guys were able to break through and reach a larger audience. It’s so easy today with Youtube and Soundcloud and everything just to get your stuff out there. Obviously it’s harder to differentiate yourself in amongst the millions of people trying to rap, but whatever. I’m just fascinated to dig deeper into how these guys reached a larger audience, and clearly the Stretch Armstrong show was a huge part of that.

If you want to read more about Eminem’s big break on the show, the editor in chief of Complex did a whole column about that day. Absolutely worth the read.

P.S.   Bibbito did a documentary on Pick Up Basketball in NYC that I still haven’t gotten around to watching. He did an awesome interview with Jacoby on Grantland before it was released, but I completely forgot to go watch the movie after. From all accounts it’s a must watch. Perfect thing to watch on my flight out to Colorado tomorrow.
